Jones number one in Taiwanese SBL for round 12

American Power forward Torren Jones (206-F/C-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for Yulon Luxgen, receiving a Hoops Agents SBL Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 40 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Bank of Taiwan (#1, 21-7) 85-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Yulon Luxgen maintains the 3rd position in Taiwanese SBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Yulon Luxgen will need more victories to improve their 16-12 record. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 61.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Yulon Luxgen, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former William Penn University star has very solid stats this year. Jones is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.0ppg. Jones is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 13.0rpg) and averages impressive 53.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Kentrell Barkley (195-G/F-1996, agency: Haylett Sports) of league's second-best Taiwan Beer. Barkley had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 20 rebounds. Bad luck as Taiwan Beer lost that game 59-70 to slightly lower-ranked Yulon Luxgen (#3, 16-12). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Taiwan Beer still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 20-8 record is not bad at all. Barkley is a newcomer at Taiwan Beer, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.7ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 12.9rpg and 4.0apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Jun-Han Chen (196-F-1996) of Jeoutai (#4). Chen scored 16 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Jeoutai, leading his team to a 66-63 win against slightly lower-ranked Pauian (#5, 2-26). The chances of Jeoutai not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 17 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Chen could try to bring Jeoutai's a little bit higher in the standings. Chen has a very solid season. In 11 games in Taiwan he scored 2.4ppg.
