Diamond Stone gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese T1 League

American Diamond Stone (210-C/F-97) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Taiwan Beer and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 24-year old had a double-double of 47 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat Taichung Suns (#4, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 117-111. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Taiwan Beer to jump to the first place in the Taiwanese T1 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Taiwan Beer has a very solid 3-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Stone had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Taiwan Beer's top player in his first season with the team. University of Maryland graduate has very impressive stats this year. Stone is league's best scorer averaging so far 35.3ppg. Stone is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 12.8rpg), assists (8th best: 3.5apg) and averages solid 1.5bpg and 56.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old Palestinian Sani Sakakini (204-C/F-88) of Taichung Suns. Sakakini impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 40 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Taichung Suns lost that game 111-117 to Taiwan Beer (3-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Sakakini is a newcomer at Taichung Suns and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Taiwan Beer's star - American Tony Mitchell (198-F/G-89, agency: BIG). Mitchell showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and ten assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of Taiwan Beer, helping his team with a 117-111 win against #4 ranked Taichung Suns in a game of the week. Taiwan Beer confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Mitchell has a great season in Taiwan. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 9.8rpg (7th best) and assists with 7.3apg (2nd best).
