SBL Round 8: #1 Taiwan Beer is defeated by Jutai Techn.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Taiwan Beer (11-2) against fifth ranked Jutai Techn. on Saturday night. Jutai Techn. were edged by fifth ranked Jutai Techn. (3-11) 71-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Taiwan Beer. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Franklin Session (187-89, college: CS Los Angeles) who helped to win the game recording 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Kai-Yan Li (182-93) who added 5 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Center Zhao-Hao Chen (200-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Jutai Techn. maintains fifth position with 3-11 record. Taiwan Beer at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Jutai Techn. are looking forward to face higher ranked Pauian (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Taiwan Beer will play against Bank of Taiwan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about was the one when second ranked Yulon Luxgen (8-6) saved a 1-point victory edging 3rd ranked Pauian (6-8) 84-83 on Saturday evening. The winners were led by American point guard Marcus Keene (180-95, college: Cent Michigan) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!) and Lei Sai supported him with 8 points and 14 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists by Lithuanian swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95) did not help to save the game for Pauian. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Yulon Luxgen maintains second position with 8-6 record having just two points less than leader Taiwan Beer. Pauian lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost.
