SBL Round 5: Bank of Taiwan is defeated by Pauian

The game between third ranked Bank of Taiwan (3-5) and fourth ranked Pauian (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Bank of Taiwan was defeated by Pauian 96-80. They outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 50-37 including 21 on the offensive glass. Pauian looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Bank of Taiwan's players. The former international forward Yao-Tsung Lin (195-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Lithuanian swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Charles Mitchell (203-93, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Slash Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pauian moved-up to third place. Bank of Taiwan at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Pauian are looking forward to face league's second-placed Yulon Luxgen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bank of Taiwan will play against Jutai Techn. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pauian moved-up to third place. Yulon Luxgen at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Pauian will play against league's leader Taiwan Beer in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yulon Luxgen will play again against Pauian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Loser Bank of Taiwan dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Taiwan Beer will meet bottom-ranked Jutai Techn. (#5) in the next round. Bank of Taiwan will play against Jutai Techn. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Yulon Luxgen maintains second place with 5-4 record having just two points less than leader Taiwan Beer. Jutai Techn. lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Yulon Luxgen's next round opponent will be Pauian (#3), which may be the game of the day. Jutai Techn. will play against the league's leader Taiwan Beer and hope to win that game.
