WALTER SHARPE

Experienced American Walter Sharpe (206-F/C-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Yulon Luxgen and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 32-year old power forward had a double-double of 31 points and eighteen rebounds, while his team beat Dacin Tigers (#6, 17-19) 94-87. Yulon Luxgen is placed at 4th position in Taiwanese SBL. Yulon Luxgen is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 18-18 record. In the team's last game Sharpe had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Yulon Luxgen, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Alabama at Birmingham graduate has very impressive stats this year. Sharpe is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.2ppg), rebounds (5th best: 13.6rpg) and averages solid 1.8bpg,2.4spg and 46.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old American guard O.J. Mayo (193-G-87) of Dacin Tigers. Mayo impressed basketball fans with 37 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Dacin Tigers to edge slightly higher-ranked KKL (#5, 18-18) by 1 point 84-83. Dacin Tigers' 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 17-19 record. Mayo is a newcomer at Dacin Tigers and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.6ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 7.3rpg and 4.3apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Garret Siler (213-C-86) of KKL (#5). Siler scored 26 points and grabbed twenty two rebounds (!!!). Despite Siler's great performance KKL lost 83-84 to slightly lower-ranked Dacin Tigers (#6, 17-19). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing KKL needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 18 victories and 18 lost games. Siler has a very solid season. In 5 games in Taiwan he scored 15.6ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kyle Meyer (208-C-93) of Pauian - 20 points, 20 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Anthony McClain (211-C-88) of Dacin Tigers - 20 points and 13 rebounds
6. Tsung-Jung Hsieh (200-C-95) of Bank of Taiwan - 20 points and 13 rebounds
7. Emanuel Jones (200-F-85) of Yulon Luxgen - 21 points and 9 rebounds
8. Igor Zaytsev (210-C/F-89) of Taiwan Beer - 19 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Wei-Che Lin (182-G-92) of Fubon Braves - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Huan-Ya Yu (183-G-93) of KKL - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 10 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
