There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Taiwan Beer (19-11) against third ranked KKL on Saturday night. KKL were edged by KKL 73-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Taiwan Beer. KKL made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Taiwan Beer helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Walter Sharpe (206-86, college: UAB) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 21 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian forward Zoran Vrkic (203-87, agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Lithuanian swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Taiwan Beer's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. KKL maintains third position with 17-13 record having just two points less than leader Taiwan Beer. Taiwan Beer at the other side still keeps top place with 11 games lost. KKL are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Bank of Taiwan (#7) in the next round. Taiwan Beer will play against Bank of Taiwan (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about was the one when second ranked Fubon Braves (18-12) saved a 2-point victory edging 5th ranked Dacin Tigers (15-15) 93-91 on Thursday evening. American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) notched a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the effort and Charles Garcia supported him with 23 points and 14 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Even a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds by American center Anthony McClain (211-88, college: Cincinnati) did not help to save the game for Dacin Tigers. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fubon Braves have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-12 record behind leader Taiwan Beer. Dacin Tigers at the other side keep the fifth place with 15 games lost. Fubon Braves will play against Pauian (#4) in the next round. Dacin Tigers will play against Pauian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Seventh-ranked Bank of Taiwan (6-24) gave a tough game to second ranked Fubon Braves (18-12) on Sunday. Fubon Braves managed to secure only three-point victory 95-92. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was Charles Garcia who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds. Angel Nunez produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 reboundsfor Fubon Braves. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. They have a solid four-game winning streak. Fubon Braves maintains second position with 18-12 record behind leader Taiwan Beer. Bank of Taiwan lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Fubon Braves will meet Pauian (#4) in the next round. Bank of Taiwan will play against KKL and hope to secure a win.
Very important is a loss of third ranked KKL (17-13) against fourth ranked Pauian (16-14) on Friday night. KKL was defeated by Pauian in a tough game 73-77. Orlando Johnson orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Pauian's coach Yang I-Feng used entire bench in such tough game. Pauian have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 16-14 record. KKL lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the third place with 13 games lost. Pauian's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Fubon Braves and it may be the game of the week. KKL will play against Bank of Taiwan and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 14: Fubon Braves won against Yulon Luxgen 92-78. Pauian managed to outperform Dacin Tigers 94-84. Bottom-ranked Bank of Taiwan recorded a loss to Dacin Tigers 101-83.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 24 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists by OJ Mayo of Dacin Tigers.



Fubon Braves - Dacin Tigers 93-91

Important game to mention about was the one when second ranked Fubon Braves (18-12) saved a 2-point victory edging 5th ranked Dacin Tigers (15-15) 93-91 on Thursday evening. Fubon Braves made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Fubon Braves outrebounded Dacin Tigers 50-39 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Fubon Braves brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) notched a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the effort and Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) supported him with 23 points and 14 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line).
