WALTER SHARPE

Experienced American Walter Sharpe (206-F/C-86) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader KKL and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 32-year old power forward had a double-double of 25 points and twenty four rebounds, while his team beat Bank of Taiwan (#7, 3-10) 84-76. It allowed KKL to consolidate first place in the Taiwanese SBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. KKL has a very solid 10-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Sharpe had a remarkable 61.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be KKL's top player in his first season with the team. University of Alabama at Birmingham graduate has very impressive stats this year. Sharpe is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.7ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 13.8rpg) and averages solid 2.4bpg and 51.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old American center Anthony McClain (211-C-88) of Dacin Tigers. McClain impressed basketball fans with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Dacin Tigers to edge the higher-ranked KKL (#1, 10-3) by 2 points 97-95. Despite this victory Dacin Tigers slide down in the standings to 6th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. McClain is a newcomer at Dacin Tigers and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.9ppg (#7). He also registered 13.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Palestinian Sani Sakakini (204-C-88) of Yulon Luxgen (#3). Sakakini got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was a key player of Yulon Luxgen, leading his team to a 90-78 win against the lower-ranked Dacin Tigers (#6, 5-7). Yulon Luxgen needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 6 lost games. Sakakini has a great season in Taiwan. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.5ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 14.4rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Wei-Han Lin (178-PG-90) of Yulon Luxgen - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 13 assists
5. Tony Mitchell (203-F-92) of Fubon Braves - 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Igor Zaytsev (210-C/F-89) of Taiwan Beer - 23 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
