IGOR ZAYTSEV

29-year old Igor Zaytsev (210-C/F-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Taiwan Beer and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Dacin Tigers (#6, 0-1) with 21-point margin 106-85. Taiwan Beer is placed at 2nd position in Taiwanese league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Taiwan Beer won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Zaytsev had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Taiwan Beer's top player in his first season with the team. Zaytsev has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 21.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 15.0rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 61.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Greg Smith (208-C-91) of Bank of Taiwan. He is American center in his first season at Bank of Taiwan. In the last game Smith recorded impressive double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Bank of Taiwan lost that game 79-88 to KKL (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Smith is a newcomer at Bank of Taiwan and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#6). He also registered 14.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Sani Sakakini (204-C-88) of Yulon Luxgen (#3). Sakakini scored 20 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Yulon Luxgen, leading his team to a 85-67 easy win against #4 ranked KKL in a game of the week. Yulon Luxgen needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victories and 1 lost games. Sakakini has a great season in Taiwan. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 13.5rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Paris Bass (203-G/F-95) of KKL - 21 points and 9 rebounds
5. Yi-Hui Lin (193-F-86) of Dacin Tigers - 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Wen-Cheng Tsai (190-G/F-85) of Fubon Braves - 24 points and 7 rebounds
7. Walter Sharpe (206-F/C-86) of KKL - 22 points and 12 rebounds
8. Edvinas Seskus (196-G/F-95) of Taiwan Beer - 24 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Shaquille Keith (196-F-93) of Fubon Braves - 28 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Rashad Woods (197-G/F-86) of Bank of Taiwan - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
