The Regular Season in SBL just ended. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with change at the leadership position, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Round 25 in SBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place when Yulon Luxgen (19-11) beat league's leader Pauian (18-12) 81-73 on Tuesday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Australian center Luke Nevill (218-86, college: Utah) fired 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. International guard Kai-Hsiang Hu (190-91) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. International power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yulon Luxgen keeps a position of league leader. Pauian at the other side dropped to the second place with 12 games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Yulon Luxgen.
Top ranked Pauian (18-12) recorded its twelfth loss against sixth ranked Taiwan Beer. Taiwan Beer were defeated by sixth ranked Taiwan Beer (12-18) 82-75. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Walter Sharpe (206-86, college: UAB) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Tsung-Han Huang contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Douglas Creighton (196-85, college: Madonna) answered with 19 points for Pauian. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Taiwan Beer maintains sixth place with 12-18 record. Pauian at the other side dropped to the second position with 12 games lost.
A very close game was the one between Fubon Braves and KKL. Fifth ranked Fubon Braves (15-15) got a very close victory over 4th placed KKL (16-14). Fubon Braves managed to escape with a 3-point win 85-82 on Friday evening. Garret Siler stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. At the losing side Peter Ramos responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Fubon Braves moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dacin Tigers. Loser KKL dropped to the third position with 14 games lost.
Very important is a loss of third ranked Dacin Tigers (15-15) against fourth ranked KKL (16-14) on Sunday night. Dacin Tigers were defeated by KKL in a tough game 83-90. Yi-Jin Su nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. KKL's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. KKL moved-up to third place. Defending champion Dacin Tigers dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost.

In the last two games of round 25 Yulon Luxgen defeated Bank of Taiwan 87-82. Taiwan Beer smashed Bank of Taiwan 93-67.

Leader Pauian delivered the eighteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Fubon Braves (15-15) 85-81. International power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Douglas Creighton (196-85, college: Madonna) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Pauian's coach Ben Metcalf used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American center Garret Siler (213-86, college: Augusta) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds and the former international guard Tsung-Hsien Chang (192-87, college: BYU-Hawaii) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. KKL - Dacin Tigers 90-83

Very important is a loss of third ranked Dacin Tigers (15-15) against fourth ranked KKL (16-14) on Sunday night. Dacin Tigers were defeated by KKL in a tough game 83-90. KKL outrebounded Dacin Tigers 45-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Yi-Jin Su (195-93) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side and the former international swingman Jung-Hsuan Chang (192-87) accounted for 31 points and 4 assists. KKL's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International guard Yi-Jie Su (182-87) came up with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: N.Mexico St.) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Dacin Tigers in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KKL moved-up to third place. Defending champion Dacin Tigers dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost.

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Bank of Taiwan (10-20) was defeated by second ranked Yulon Luxgen (19-11) 87-82 on Saturday. Bank of Taiwan was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Australian center Luke Nevill (218-86, college: Utah) fired 25 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. The former international point guard Wei-Han Lin (178-90) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). Five Yulon Luxgen players scored in double figures. Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and guard Chun-An Yu (190-92) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Yulon Luxgen keeps a position of league leader. Bank of Taiwan lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 20 games lost.

Taiwan Beer dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bank of Taiwan's 36. Taiwan Beer forced 22 Bank of Taiwan turnovers. Bank of Taiwan was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch.
