THE Boomers held up their end of the bargain, defeating Chinese Taipei 88-68 on Sunday to cement a spot in the second round of basketball World Cup qualification. Now, it is up to Basketball Australia to keep lobbying FIBA, the sport's governing body, to ensure future home qualifiers fall within NBA-friendly June and September international windows. Australian NBA exports, including Ben Simmons (208-F-96, college: LSU), Matthew Dellavedova (193-G-90, college: St.Mary's, CA), Patty Mills and Joe Ingles (203-SF-87), could suit up for the Boomers in June for the final stage of Group-B qualifying in Japan and the Philippines. Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis said 'some' NBA players had already indicated a willingness to play. 'The conversation with the NBA guys has been if you want to play we want you to play, but there's no expectation for you to play and obviously that needs to fit in with their schedules,' Andrej Lemanis said. 'We want to ensure that they feel welcome but understand that it's not part of a pre-selection process for the World Cup.' Andrej Lemanis said he would 'firm up' the availability of those players over the next six weeks. 'I'm really comfortable with the current group that we have and what we've built,' Andrej Lemanis said. 'There's part of me that would be excited by the challenge of continuing to build with these guys and going into those hostile environments and getting after it.' Horsham export Mitch Creek (195-F/G-92) led the way on Sunday with 18 points in a blistering performance that should ensure guarantee his place in the June window. FIBA last year cleared a path for national teams to draw on their NBA talent pools with an agreement to cover the giant cost of insurance. Depending on results, the Boomers could play on home soil in September. But as it stands, the two games against Group-D qualifiers - Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar or Iraq - will be played in the Middle East. Basketball Australia chief executive Anthony Moore said playing home-and-away during NBA-friendly windows would be ideal. 'It's not just us, it's our counterparts in the US and Canada and elsewhere that have strong NBA players that could be available for their nations to actually look at having that home and away opportunity,' Moore said. 'The home part is really key because you want them playing in front of your home fans… create that hype around your team.' The Boomers' games against Philippines (6504) and Chinese Taipei (4207) attracted a combined crowd of 10,711 at Margaret Court Arena. The Boomers sold out Rod Laver Arena in 2015 when Mills, Dellavedova, Bogut and Cam Bairstow lined up against New Zealand for a spot at the Rio Olympics.

In three games he had 15.0ppg and 11.7rpg. The last season Siler played at Fubon Braves where in 42 SBL games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.0ppg, 14.5rpg (#3 in the league), 1.2apg and 1.6bpg. ANGEL NUNEZ American-Dominican Rep. Angel Nunez (203-F-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for Bank of Taiwan and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 15. The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 32 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team crushed KKL (#3, 17-14) with 17-point margin 90-73.
