Bryan Davis
American Bryan Davis (206-C-86) put on an amazing game in the last round for Taiwan Beer and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 30-year old center had a double-double of 22 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team beat Bank of Taiwan (#7, 1-8) 89-76. Taiwan Beer is placed at 4th position in Taiwanese SBL. Taiwan Beer is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-5 record. Davis turned to be Taiwan Beer's top player in his first season with the team. Texas A&M University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Davis is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 13.3rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 52.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American forward Eugene Phelps (198-F-90) of KKL. Phelps impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as KKL lost that game 82-89 to the higher-ranked Dacin Tigers (#3, 7-3). KKL managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories KKL managed to get this year. Phelps is a newcomer at KKL and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 30.4ppg (#1). He also registered 15.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Indian Sim Bhullar (226-C-92) of Dacin Tigers (#3). Bhullar scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Dacin Tigers, leading his team to a 76-57 easy win against #1 ranked Fubon Braves in a game of the week. Dacin Tigers needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 3 lost games. Bhullar has a great season in Taiwan. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 13.1rpg (3rd best). He also has 2.5bpg and FGP: 62.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Sim Bhullar (226-C-92) of Dacin Tigers - 19 points and 18 rebounds
5. Luke Nevill (218-C-86) of Bank of Taiwan - 23 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Po-Hsun Chou (197-PF-91) of Taiwan Beer - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Yi-Xiang Zhou (191-G-91) of Dacin Tigers - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Wen-Cheng Tsai (190-G/F-85) of Fubon Braves - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Quincy Davis (206-F/C-83) of Pauian - 14 points and 13 rebounds
10. Tai-Hao Wu (203-F/C-85) of Pauian - 8 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
