New Taipei Kings conquered PLeague+ title. They outscored Pilots in overtime in Game 5 of the Finals to secure the trophy. Pilots trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 18-5 last quarter charge cut the deficit to tie the game 85-85 at the end of regular time. But then they lost overtime period 12-18. Kings forced 21 Pilots turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Pilots helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Austin Daye (209-1988, college: Gonzaga, agency: Slash Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and naturalized American point guard Jeremy Lin (191-1988, college: Harvard) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Kings' coach Ryan Marchand used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Treveon Graham (198-1993, college: VCU) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and international guard Chun-Hsiang Lu (190-1997) scored 23 points and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
