Angela Tompkins (ex Mersin Secil) agreed terms with Al Thawra

Al Thawra Damascus (D1) added to their roster experienced 34-year-old American 188cm forward Angela Tompkins (college: Wichita State). She started the season at Mersin Secil in Turkish TKBL. In 7 games, she recorded 11.0ppg, 10.0rpg, and 1.9apg.

She is a very experienced player. Thanks to her pro career, she managed to play on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, and of course North America) in nine different countries. Tompkins has played professionally also in Australia (Dolphins and Chargers), Cyprus (Asbis AEL Limassol and Etha), Greece (Panionios, Panathlitikos, and Giannena), Israel (Elitzur Ramla and Hapoel Jerusalem), Jordan (Al Fuheis), Lebanon (Al Riyadi), Mexico (Rojas), Puerto Rico (Cangrejeras), and Turkey (Urla, Cesme, Bodrum, and Antalya).
Among many awards, she won the Puerto Rican BSNF championship title in 2024. She was also voted the Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TKBL Forward of the Year in 2023.

Tompkins graduated from Wichita State in 2018 and is currently in her eighth season in pro basketball.
