Jay Threatt (ex Smouha) agreed terms with Al Karameh

Al Karameh Homs (SBL) signed 36-year-old American point guard Jay Threatt, who stands at 180cm tall and played college basketball at Delaware State. Threatt began the season with Smouha Sporting Club in the Egyptian Superleague, where he averaged 14.2ppg, 3.7rpg, 6.1apg, and 1.3spg in 13 games. He was named League Player of the Week for his performances. In the previous season, Threatt played for Maccabi Rehovot in the Israeli National League and BC CSU Sibiu in the Romanian Liga Nationala.


Threatt is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in Finland (Nokia), France (Pau Lacq Orthez, Denain Voltaire and Poitiers), Germany (MLP Academics Threattidelberg), Greece (Larissa BC), Hungary (Sopron KC), Iceland (Snaefell), Israel, Kosovo (Ylli), Lithuania (Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys), Poland (Stal and Wilki Morskie), Portugal (FC Porto) and Romania (Galati and Rapid).

Among many awards, his team made it to the League Semifinals in 2023. He was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Polish League Honorable Mention back in 2020. Threatt is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of the last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Al Karameh.

He graduated from Delaware State in 2012 and is currently in his 14th season in pro basketball. Threatt also played for George Mason University for one year.
