Syrian Basketball Federation announced earlier today that they signed with 45 years old Syrian coach and the current head coach of Ittihad Aleppo club coach Alaa Jokhaji to be new head coach of Syrian National Team .. he will replace the current coach of Wehda Club Hady Darwish who coached the national team last 2 years.
Coach Alaa has coached Ittihad Aleppo Club last 2 seasons and he made very good results with the club despite the difficult situations which faced his team and city Aleppo, he reached the league finalist in 2015, and league semifinal in 2016 .. also worked with several clubs in Syria before like Yarmook and Hurriya.
in 2011 he named as assistant coach of Syrian National Team in FIBA Asia 2011 when the Serbian coach Goran Miljevic was head coach of Senior National team, first competition will face Syrian National Team is West Asia Championship at the end of May

Al-Wahda beats UAE team at 30th Dubai International Basketball Championship - 11 days ago
Al-Wahda basketball team beat the United Arab Emirates national team 85-76 in the match held Monday at Maktoum bin Mohammed Hall in Dubai as part of the 30th Dubai International Basketball Championship. Al-Wehda also beat the American University team 92-57 in the opening day of the championship. The team will face the Philippines' Mighty Sports on Tuesday and Homenetmen Lebanon's team on Wednesday. TAYLOR BROWN Al Wahda Damascus (Division I) agreed terms with 29-year old American forward Taylor Brown (200-89, college: Bradley) to represent the club in Dubai international tournament.
