India U18 - Syria U18 97:44

India recorded the third consecutive win at the U18 Asia Championship held in Thailand these days. They toppled Syria for 3-0 record on top of Level II ladder. Syria slipped at 1-2 record after the loss. Amruta Bhuskute (176-F-93) notched 23 points and 8 steals to lead India in this one.
The teams got to a slow start. They teamed up for just 24 points in the first quarter with the scoreboard reading 12:12 at the end. But India went on a 13:0 run early in the second frame to clear off for good. India marched to a 43:21 advantage at the interval. Syria could not slow down the offensive onslaught from the Indian team. India piled up a 66:29 lead into the fourth quarter. Syria had no answers and surrendered at the end.
Soniya Joy (173-G-92) provided 17 points for the winners. Rajapriyadharshini Rajaganapathi (178-F-94) added 16 points for India. Einas Badran (157-G-93) answered with 10 points and 8 rebounds for Syria. Nour Rabahieh (158-G-93) and Gasia Sarkis (180-C-92) accounted for 9 points apiece in the losing effort.

Thawra celebrate League title - 2 months ago
Thawra - Wahda 60:54 Thawra clinched the Syrian League title. They swept the championship series versus Wahda. Thawra opened the Finals with a road win. They steamrolled Wahda 74:49 in the opener. Thawra completed the sweep in Game 2. They earned a tough 60:54 victory at home to clinch the title.   [read more]
Thawra and Wahda reach the Final - 2 months ago
Thawra and Wahda reached the Final as they beat their opponents in the semifinal clashes. Al-Thawra swept the series against Al-Jalaa 3-0. In the last game they posted a 72-52 win. Al-Wahda meanwhile edged Qasion 3-1. Al-Wahda posted an 81-77 final win to reach the Final. Al-Thawra will face Al-Wahda on April 23rd.   [read more]
Wahda and Thawra claim victories in semifinal series openers - 2 months ago
Wahda and Thawra opened their respective semifinal series with victories. Wahda upset Jalaa 80:65 on the road in Game 1. The second game is scheduled on April 6th. Wahda protected home court advantage in their series. They held off Qasion 59:56 in the opener. Game 2 is slated for April 7th.    [read more]
