Syria U18 - Laos U18 75:33
Syrian U18 team opened the win count at the Asia Championship in Surat Thani, Thailand. They defeated Laos in the first game in Level II group for both teams. Gasia Sarkis top-scored with 21 points and 16 rebounds for Syria.
The teams got to a slow start. They combined for only 9 points in the first five minutes as Syria led 7:2. Syria then followed with a 9:0 run to win the period 16:2. Syria continued to dominate as they tipped off the second frame on a 14:4 run. The first half finished with the Syrian youngsters up by 24 points 35:11. Laos could not change things radically in the second half. Syria stayed in the drivers seat. They were up by 21 points heading into the final term. Syria raced comfortable to the victory in the dying minutes. Marie von Hassoun notched 20 points and 20 rebounds for Syria. Nour Rabahieh added 14 points in the win. Vatsana Souksavath answered with 12 points for Laos. Manivanh Oulavong delivered 8 points in the losing effort.

Thawra celebrate League title - 2 months ago
Thawra - Wahda 60:54 Thawra clinched the Syrian League title. They swept the championship series versus Wahda. Thawra opened the Finals with a road win. They steamrolled Wahda 74:49 in the opener. Thawra completed the sweep in Game 2. They earned a tough 60:54 victory at home to clinch the title.   [read more]
Thawra and Wahda reach the Final - 2 months ago
Thawra and Wahda reached the Final as they beat their opponents in the semifinal clashes. Al-Thawra swept the series against Al-Jalaa 3-0. In the last game they posted a 72-52 win. Al-Wahda meanwhile edged Qasion 3-1. Al-Wahda posted an 81-77 final win to reach the Final. Al-Thawra will face Al-Wahda on April 23rd.   [read more]
Wahda and Thawra claim victories in semifinal series openers - 2 months ago
Wahda and Thawra opened their respective semifinal series with victories. Wahda upset Jalaa 80:65 on the road in Game 1. The second game is scheduled on April 6th. Wahda protected home court advantage in their series. They held off Qasion 59:56 in the opener. Game 2 is slated for April 7th.    [read more]
