Hong Kong smashed Sri Lanka in Malaysia in Day 2 of the U18 Asia Championship. Hong Kong improved to 2-0 record in Group B after an easy 83:25 victory.
Hong Kong immediately took the lead, but trailed 0:3 in the opening tip. Later on they needed a 14-0 run to take a massive lead. The first quarter showed 30:7 on the board, while Hong Kong allowed the opponents to score another 7 points in the second frame. Hong Kong nailed 28 points for 58:14 at the halftime. The teams slowed down a bit in the second half, while Hong Kong enjoyed two defensive victories. They won the third period 14-6 and added 11-5 in the last stanza.
Li Tsz Kwan (169-F-95) top-scored for the winners with 21 points and Wong Man Sze (170-G-95) netted 14. Wong Ka Yee (172-F-94) posted 13, while Seung Hui Ying (162-G-96) added 10. Pooja Marasinghege (169-C-94) delivered 7 points in the losing effort and Anne Ravindran (156-F-96) had 6.
