Kazakhstan registered the fourth win at the Asia Championship in Omura. They cruised past Sri Lanka to improve at 4-1 record in Level II ladder. Kazakhstan will now take on Lebanon in the battle for Level I promotion. Nadezhda Kondrakova (192-C-89) and Anna Vinokurova (191-C-92) stepped up with 14 points each to pace the Kazakh team. Sri Lanka fell at 0-5 record after the loss.
Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka stayed on level terms throughout the opening quarter. The Kazakh team posted a 17:13 lead after ten minutes. Kazakhstan shifted the gear drastically in the second quarter. They held their opponents to just 4 points in the period and registered a 41:17 halftime lead. Kazakhstan took over completely and raced to a massive 65:27 lead at the final intermission. The teams exchanged baskets throughout the fourth period as Kazakhstan coasted to the victory. Tamara Seregina (182-F-90) and Yulia Korotkaya (175-G-77) added 13 points apiece in the win. Inoka Pedige (82) answered with 21 points and 6 boards for Sri Lanka. Herath Ekanayake netted 5 points in the loss.
