Singapore opened win count at Asia Championship in Japan. They toppled Sri Lanka to improve to 1-2 record. Ang Juliana (168-F-87) stepped up with 16 points to pace the winners. Sri Lanka suffered the third loss in a row at the tournament.
Sri Lanka got to a slightly better start. They registered an 18:16 lead ten minutes into the game. The teams stayed close throughout the second period. Sri Lanka managed to secure a 2-point lead at halftime 30:28. Singapore turned things around right after the big break. They ignited an 18:6 run to build a 47:38 lead at the final intermission. Sri Lanka got back within five points midway through the final period but Sunarko Cynthia (163-PG-89) and Koh helped Singapore to the victory at the end. Tan Sarah (173-F-91) finished with 12 points, while Sunarko Cynthia added 11 points for the winners. Inoka Juwan Pedige (82) responded with 19 points for Sri Lanka. Premila Beruwalage (81) chipped in 15 points in the loss.
