India finished their U18 Asia Championship campaign in style. They fired past Sri Lanka to ensure the 13th overall place. Sri Lanka earned the 14th spot at the tournament. Rajan Sharma (184-G-92) stepped up with 19 points for India in this one.
India shocked their opponents early in the encounter. Sri Lanka could not score for five minutes as India accumulated a 14:0 lead. India rolled to a 24:7 advantage at the break. Sri Lanka failed to tune up their offense. They managed only 9 points in the second period to trail by as many as 25 points at halftime 16:41. India opened the third quarter on a 9:0 run to clear off for good. They coasted to the victory in the final period. Rakesh Kumar Yadav (198-C-92) accounted for 9 points and 6 boards for the winning side. Sunny Raut (184-G-92) and Gill had 7 points each for India. Shehan Mahawaduge (193-F/C-92) replied with 13 points for Sri Lanka. Randeel Senevirathne (186-F-92) finished with 6 points in the loss.
