Malaysia U18 - Sri Lanka U18 86:52

Malaysia opened win count at U18 Asia Championship in Yemen. They held off Sri Lanka in preliminary Group A. Wei Hong Choo (196-C-92) knocked down 18 points to pace the effort.
Malaysia surged ahead right from the start. They maintained the lead throughout the opening stanza and recorded a 20:17 lead at the first break. Malaysia increased the margin early in the second quarter. They rallied to an 8-point halftime advantage 43:35. Malaysia tipped off the second half with 12:5 run to boost the gap. The margin kept on growing and reached a 28-point mark at the final intermission. Sri Lanka could not recover in the fourth stanza as Malaysia posted a comfortable win at the end.
Chee Huei Liaw (187-F-93) produced 12 points for Malaysia. Wen Keong Tong (180-G-92) and Ivan Yeo (193-F-93) delivered 10 points each in the win. Clinton Stallon Thevakumar (180-G-93) notched 12 points for Sri Lanka. Shehan Vasana Perera (193-F-92) accounted for 8 points in the loss.
