Thailand celebrated the second win at the U18 Asia Championship. The hosts toppled Sri Lanka to climb on top of Level II ladder. Sri Lanka fell at 0-2 record. Aungkana Buapa (169-G/F-93) notched 25 points to pace Thailand.
The teams stayed close in the opening frame. Thailand managed to put their noses in front as they finished the first quarter up by two points 17:15. Thailand maintained the lead early in the second quarter but could not clear off. Finally the home team ignited a 17:4 run to build a 16-point cushion at halftime. Thailand opened the second half on a 15:5 rally. They deepened the lead and coasted to a 60:29 buffer with one quarter remaining. Thailand stayed calm and easily sealed the winning outcome at the final stage. Atchara Kaichaiyapoom (178-C-92) provided 15 points and 19 rebounds for Thailand. Sineenut Sorot produced 8 points and 6 assists for the winners. Buddika Wijenayake answered with 16 points and 16 rebounds for Sri Lanka. Lokukatagodage replied with 10 points in defeat.
