U16 Thailand beats U16 Sri Lanka in a low scoring game

U16 Sri Lanka - U16 Thailand 29-57

Thailand celebrated in a low scoring game against Sri Lanka in Day 3 of U16 FIBA Asia Championship. The winners had more players in a game mood and thanks to nice plays by the bench players they celebrated in this match. Naruemon Sapmee top-scored in victory with 13 and Pornnutcha Sawatong followed her with 9. Danushika Rajapakse of Sri Lanka had a game high 18 pts. Jayasinghe Jayakodyarachchilage had 19 and just one more players managed to score in Sri Lanka. Now, Thailand has 1-2, while Sri Lanka dropped to poor 0-3 in Group B.
Thailand was way better team in all four periods. In the first one they stopped Sri Lanka on 5 points and in third on just 2. Defense was something what helped Thailand to win in this game. Their offense looked the best in third quarter when they drained 20 points. Thailand also was better in all statistical parameters in this game. They had better shot percentage and dominated in rebounds. On the other side, Sri Lanka committed many mistakes and did not have a chance in this meeting.
In Day 4, Thailand will meet Kazakhstan. Sri Lanka will take on powerful Korea.
