U16 Sri Lanka - U16 Malaysia 25-80
Second victory for Malaysia on U16 FIBA Asia Championship in Pune. This time Malaysia blasted Sri Lanka with huge 25-80 jumping to 2-0 in Group B. Fook Yee Yap led her team in this game with 14 points. Poh Yee Ooi scored 11 and Shi Yeng Ng helped with 10 points. In the loosing squad, Jayasinghe Jayakodyarachchilage delivered 12 pts. Danushika Rajapakse had 10 and her team fell to 0-2.
First quarter sent a clear signal that Sri Lanka will not have any chance in this game. In the opening ten minutes Malaysia limited Sri Lanka on just 4 points, draining impressive 27 on the other side. Malaysia dominated in all basketball elements and had not troubles to further increase its lead. Until the half time it already was huge 15-47 and nothing has changed later. Third period also belonged to Malaysia and Sri Lanka was again stopped on 4 pts (4-21). Malaysia slowed down during the last ten minutes ending it 6-12.
In Day 3, Malaysia will play against Korea. Sri Lanka will meet Thailand.
