Uzbekistan-Sri Lanka 89:48
The game between Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka became the important for the first victory at the Asian Championship in Chennai. Uzbekistan grabbed the initial victory so far taking 89:48 win over the opponents.
Uzbekistan opened the game with six consecutive points, while Gallappaththiguruge scored the first points for Sri Lanka. Yuliya Tatarinova made it 15:2, while Yuliya Kashuba added for 21:10. The favorites increased to 27:10 at the end of the opening quarter when the squads finished the most productive quarter of the game. In the second period the tempo remained high as Uzbekistan added 25:16 in it. The teams went to the lockers with 50:28 and it was sure the win would belong to Uzbekistan. The latter was better also in the third quarter as Natalya Koniva (89) brought the 69th point for the team. Inoka Sandamali Juwan Pedige closed the period at 69:41 and Natalya Koniva made it 76:43 later in the fourth. Sri Lanka was able to post only 7 points in the final stanza and trailed until the end. Inoka Sandamali Juwan Pedige scored the last points in the losing effort, while Yuliya Kashubadelivered the last points for the winners.
Natalya Koniva paced all the winners with 24 points. Alla Krasovskaya (190-C-87) nailed 15, while Yelena Khusnitdinova (85) added 12. Inoka Sandamali Juwan Pedige ended up with 15 points in the losing case. Benica Thalagala posted 13 and Gallappaththiguruge N.K. Silva had 9.
