Kazakhstan earned the first win at the Asian Championship in Chinnai. They cruised past Sri Lanka in the opener for both teams. Kazakhstan thus grabbed the lead in Level II table. Yelena Dots (177-G-89) led balanced effort with 13 points for Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan did not waste too much time to adjust as they stormed into the encounter. The team grabbed a 24:2 lead with under 4 minutes left in the first frame. Kazakhstan ensured a 27:8 advantage at the first break. The onslaught continued in the second stanza. Kondrakova and Ivanova stretched the margin at 27-point mark. Kazakhstan sealed the first half outcome at 51:22. The situation did not change after the major break. Sri Lanka managed just 11 points in the third quarter as Kazakhstan built an unassailable 41-point lead into the fourth period. They coasted to the win in the dying minutes.
Kucheryavych and Natalya Kuzmicheva (192-F/C-76) nailed 12 points each for Kazakhstan. Seregina produced 11 points in the winning effort. Premila Beruwalage (81) responded with 13 points for Sri Lanka. Benica Thalagala (87) had 9 points in defeat.
