Indonesia beats Sri Lanka, avoids last place in Tianjin

SRI LANKA - INDONESIA 42-74

Indonesia avoided last place on AsiaBasket 2009 in Tianjin. It means that the only winless team on this event is Sri Lanka and they finished as No.16. Of course, 15th place belongs to Indonesia. Ary Chandra (-84) stepped up in victory with 19 points for 16 minutes on the court. Erick Sebayang (178-G-83) scored 15 and Andi Poedjakesuma (187-F-80) had 13 points. In the loosing squad, A.P. Pushpakumara Agalathunga (-82) netted 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Chamath Danawansa (-83) stopped on 11 pts.
Indonesia was way better team during the entire time. After opening 10 minutes Indonesia already had nice 10-22 lead. They scored 22 more points until the half time, limiting Sri Lanka on just 14. At that time it was already clear who the winner of this game will be. Third period is another one which belonged to Indonesia, 12-15. Sri Lanka totally gave up at the end netting just 6 points in the last ten minutes. Indonesia used that chance to stretch its lead and to finish AsiaBasket 2009 with 32-point win.
