Colombo International School scored a convincing 36 points to 11 victory over Asian International School in a girls fixture of their International Schools under 15 Basketball Tournament being held at Colombo International School courts.
The half time scores stood at 18 points to 10 in favour of host school. AIS cagers could manage to collect only a solitary point after the half time. As a result they had to end up with a low score.
Sarah Peterson (11), Niroga Mindula and Chrishani Mendis with 10 points each were the best shooters for the winners while Kimaya Weerasekara with six points fought a lone battle for AIS.
In another match on the previous day CIS beat Gateway College by 37 points to 17 after leading 19 points to 8 at breather.
Sarah Peterson (14) and Chrishni Mendis (7) stood out for CIS while A. Judith netted 11 points for the losers.
Elizabeth Moir School coasted into a 16 points to nine points win over Wycherly International School after taking a 12 points to three lead at breather.
C. Higuchi and Samira Ghouse with four points apiece were the main scorers for the winners while H. Nayanthara with seven points was the solid scorer for the losers.
Lyceum International School, Nugegoda beat Wycherly International School by 26 points to 6 after being well ahead with 14 points to two points at the short whistle. Mandeera Saverimutthu (10) and Priyani Perera (6) did well for the winners. In the boys fixtures Royal Institute beat Lyceum International School, Wattala by 32 points to 28 after leading 20-9 at breather. CIS beat Lyceum, Nugegoda by 58-42 after leading 30-14 at half time.
Top scorers-CIS- Shannon Barrlett and Kusal Kaluarachchi (13 each), Lyceum- Naveen Samaranayake (14), Azam Afzal (12).
Alethea International School swamped Gateway College, Kandy by 46-01 after leading 40-1 at breather. Best shooters- Alethea- K. Indratissa (12), Yusuf Farook (10).
