LA Sparks tab Jihyun Park

Jihyun Park

The Los Angeles Sparks signed 26-year-old South Korean international forward Jihyun Park for the upcoming season. She played for Tokomanawa Queens in New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa last summer. In 13 games, she averaged 12.8ppg, 6.1rpg, 3.4apg, and 1.7spg, helping them win the regular season and reach the semifinals. She was voted to Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand League Honorable Mention. In the previous season, she played for Azul Marino Sant Josep Palma de Mallorca in the Spanish league.
Park has been a member of the South Korean international program for some years. She has played for the South Korean senior team since 2018 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2019.
Park also represented South Korea at the FIBA Asia Cup for Women in Shenzhen (China) last year. Her team reached the Semifinals and she averaged over 14 points per game.
She is a very experienced player, having traveled the world during her pro career to four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and Australia). Park has played previously in Australia (Bruins), Spain, and South Korea (Woori Bank).
