KB Stars set WKBL playoff record with 17 three-pointers, sweep Woori Bank to reach championship finals- April 13, 2026Cheongju KB Stars put on a historic three-point shooting display, draining a playoff-record 17 triples en route to an 81-55 demolition of Asan Woori Bank Woori WON in Game 3 of the BNK Financial 2025-2026 WKBL semifinal playoff at Asan Yi Sun-sin Gymnasium on Saturday. The victory completed a 3-0 series sweep for KB Stars, who advance to the championship finals for the first time in two years. For Woori Bank, the season ends without a single playoff win — a disappointing conclusion to their campaign. KB seized control from the opening tip, with Yi-seul Kang (180-F-1989) breaking out of a two-game scoring slump by catching fire from beyond the arc. Woori Bank initially kept pace through Dan-Bi Kim (180-F-1990)'s scoring and perimeter shooting from their guards, and the first quarter ended with KB holding a narrow 20-17 advantage after Ji-Su Park (195-C-1998)'s buzzer-beating layup.
The second quarter is where the game was blown wide open. Woori Bank's offense went cold — converting just 2 of 13 field goal attempts in the period — while KB unleashed a barrage from downtown. Yi-seul Kang drilled two more three-pointers as part of a five-triple second quarter that shredded Woori Bank's defense and sent KB into halftime with a commanding 45-24 lead. The onslaught continued in the second half as KB's shooters kept finding the range. Ji-Su Park was effective both inside and from the perimeter, constantly pulling Woori Bank's defense out of position. The exclamation point came at the third-quarter buzzer when Sara buried a half-court three-pointer to make it 67-41, effectively ending any remaining hope of a Woori Bank comeback. KB cruised through the fourth quarter with their bench players getting extended minutes, closing out the 26-point victory in comfortable fashion. The 17 three-pointers established a new WKBL playoff record, underlining the devastating perimeter firepower that KB possess when their shooters are clicking in unison. KB's ability to space the floor around the dominant Ji-Su Park creates mismatches that opponents have struggled to solve throughout the postseason. KB Stars, who won the regular season title, will now await their championship finals opponent from the other semifinal between Samsung Life Bluemings and Bucheon Hana Bank, which is tied at 1-1. |
