Omari Spellman (ex Zenit) signs at Wonju DB

Omari Spellman

Defending champion Wonju DB (KBL) landed 27-year old American (has also Lebanese passport) 206cm power forward Omari Spellman (college: Villanova). He started the season at Zenit in Russian VTB United League. In 23 games he averaged 10.7ppg and 3.2rpg. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week.
In 2018 he was drafted by Atlanta Hawks (NBA) in first round (30th overall). He graduated from Villanova University and it is his seventh season in pro basketball.
Spellman also represented Lebanon at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Valencia (Spain) last year. During this event he scored an average of 15.7 points per game and had 6.7 rebounds per game.
He is a very experienced player. Spellman has played also professionally in Korea (Anyang), NBA (GS Warriors, NY Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves), NBA G League (Iowa Wolves and Erie BH), The Basketball Tournament (Eberlein Drive) and NBA Summer League (Chicago Bulls).
Among many awards he received Asia-Basket.com All-Korean KBL Player of the Year award and Asia-Basket.com All-Korean KBL Import Player of the Year award in 2023.
