South Korean KBL round 25 best performance: Carl Tamayo (by Hoops Agents)

Filipino Forward Carl Tamayo (200-F-2001) had a very impressive game in the last round for Changwon LG Sakers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 23-year old player tried to help (37 points, seven rebounds and three assists) his team in a lost game to Seoul Thunders (#8, 10-17) 88-92. Sakers maintains the 5th position in South Korean KBL. LG Sakers is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 13th lost game this season out of 28 games. In the team's last game Tamayo had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Carl Tamayo averages this season 15.3ppg and 6.3rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Jamaican Kofi Cockburn (213-C-1999) of Seoul Samsung Thunders. Cockburn had a very good evening with 24 points and 9 rebounds. It was enough for Samsung Thunders to edge the higher-ranked LG Sakers (#5, 15-13) 92-88. Seoul Thunders' 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-17 record. Cockburn is well-known at Seoul Thunders and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.2ppg (#3). He also registered 11.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Shawn Long (208-F-1993, agency: Pensack Sports) of league's second-best Hyundai Mobis Phoebus. Long showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Mobis Phoebus, leading his team to a 92-77 easy win against the lower-ranked Anyang (#10, 7-21). Mobis Phoebus needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 19 victories and 8 lost games. Long has a very solid season. In 27 games in South Korea he scored 14.5ppg. He also has 7.4rpg and a FGP of 62.1%.
