South Korean KBL round 22 best performance: Jameel Warney (by Hoops Agents)

American Center Jameel Warney (203-C-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Seoul SK Knights, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 20 rebounds, while his team beat KCC Egis (#7, 10-14) 96-86. It allowed Knights to take over top position in the South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Seoul Knights has a very solid 17-6 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Warney has many years of experience at Knights, through which he has constantly improved. Former Stony Brook University star has very solid stats this year. Warney is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.9ppg and leads league in rebounds with 12.6rpg. Warney is in league's top in assists (8th best: 4.6apg) and averages impressive 52.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Darryl Monroe (202-C/F-1986) of Changwon LG Sakers. Monroe had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Sakers was edged by the higher-ranked Seoul Knights (#1, 17-6) 77-74. This loss caused LG Sakers to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 13-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Monroe is a newcomer at LG Sakers and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Shawn Long (208-F-1993, agency: Pensack Sports) of league's second-best Hyundai Mobis Phoebus. Long scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Mobis Phoebus, leading his team to a 84-67 easy win against the lower-ranked Sono SG (#8, 9-15). Mobis Phoebus needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 7 lost games. Long has a great season in South Korea. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.4rpg (9th best).

9. Sun-Hyung Kim (187-G-1988) of Seoul Knights - 13 points, 3 rebounds and 11 assists
10. Jeong-Hyeon Lee (187-F-1999) of Sono SG - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists
