South Korean KBL round 33 best performance: Dedric Lawson- February 21, 2023
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Seoul Thunders (#10, 12-31) 92-86. Goyang maintains the 5th position in South Korean KBL. Goyang is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 20-20 record. In the team's last game Lawson had a remarkable 70.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Goyang's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Kansas star has very solid stats this year. Lawson is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.5ppg), rebounds (7th best: 9.5rpg) and averages impressive 1.0bpg and 62.0% FGP. The second best player in last round's games was young American forward Guna Ra (203-F-1989) of KCC Egis. Ra had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as KCC Egis lost that game 79-88 to the higher-ranked Anyang (#1, 33-11). KCC Egis is still second from the bottom in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 16-24 record. Ra is one of the most experienced players at KCC Egis and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.6ppg (#7). He also registered 12.6 boards per game. Third on the list of top players last round was American center Jameel Warney (203-C-1994) of Seoul Knights (#3). Warney scored 25 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Seoul Knights, leading his team to a 85-79 win against #1 ranked Anyang in a game of the week. Seoul Knights needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 26 victories and 18 lost games. Warney has a great season in South Korea. After 43 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.6ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 11.1rpg (4th best). He also has 1.0bpg and FGP: 54.0%. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
