South Korea - New Zealand 85-69

South Korea opened win count at the Fiba Asia Cup. They held off New Zealand in Group A opener. Eun-Sil Choi (183-F-94) scored 29 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to pace the winners.
South Korea dropped 24 points in the first period to take a 4-point lead. They extended the lead in the second frame. South Korea established a 46-38 halftime lead. The Korean side stepped on the gas in the second half. They dropped 26 points in the third period to pile up a 13-point lead. South Korea held New Zealand to 10 points in the fourth period and rallied to the win. Hye-Jin Park (178-G-90) tossed in 20 points, collected 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Penina Davidson (190-F-95, college: California) replied with 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Tall Ferns.
