James Mays
JAMES MAYS

Experienced Central African-American James Mays (205-F/C-86) had an amazing evening in the last round for LG Sakers and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 31.
The 32-year old power forward had a double-double of 43 points and thirty rebounds, while his team edged out KT Sonicboom (#3, 23-18) 95-93. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. LG Sakers maintains the 4th position in South Korean KBL. LG Sakers is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 22-19 record. Mays turned to be LG Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. James Mays averages this season 26.6ppg and 14.0rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old American power forward Brandon Brown (201-PF-85) of KCC Egis. Brown impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 31 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as KCC Egis lost that game 76-92 to the higher-ranked KT Sonicboom (#3, 23-18). This loss caused KCC Egis to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 20-22 record. Brown is a newcomer at KCC Egis and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. Cal State - San Bernardino alumni Brown played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was American Aaron Haynes (201-F-81) of SK Knights (#9). Haynes showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, fifteen rebounds (!!!) and eight assists in the last round. He was a key player of SK Knights, leading his team to a 85-72 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Samsung Th. (#10, 10-31). The chances of SK Knights not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 27 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Haynes could try to bring SK Knights' a little bit higher in the standings. Haynes has a very solid season. In 17 games in South Korea he scored 21.8ppg. He also has 11.0rpg and 5.3apg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Joshia Gray (185-PG-93) of LG Sakers - 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Dae-Sung Lee (192-F-90) of Mobis Phoebus - 29 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Charles Rhodes (203-F/C-85) of ET Land - 23 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Ricardo Ratliffe (203-F-89) of Mobis Phoebus - 21 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Marcus Landry (201-F-85) of KT Sonicboom - 18 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Eugene Phelps (198-F-90) of Samsung Th. - 17 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Darryl Monroe (201-C/F-86) of Goyang Orions - 25 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
