The most exciting game of round 14 in the KBL took place in Busan. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked KT Sonicboom (12-7) to first ranked Mobis Phoebus (16-3) 97-96 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of KT Sonicboom. Mobis Phoebus looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-89, college: Missouri) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Dong-Geun Yang (181-81) contributed with 11 points and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) replied with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for KT Sonicboom. Mobis Phoebus have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-3 record. KT Sonicboom at the other side keeps the second place with seven games lost. Mobis Phoebus are looking forward to face Anyang KGC (#5) at home in the next round. KT Sonicboom will play against ET Land Elephants in Inchon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked ET Land Elephants (12-8) against ninth ranked Goyang Orions (7-13) on Saturday night. Visiting ET Land Elephants were defeated by Goyang Orions in a tough game in Daegu 80-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ET Land Elephants. American power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: George Mason) had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Do-Soo Kim chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds. Goyang Orions maintains ninth position with 7-13 record. ET Land Elephants at the other side dropped to the third place with eight games lost. Goyang Orions will play against higher ranked LG Sakers (#4) in Changwon in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ET Land Elephants will play on the road against Samsung Thunders in Seoul and hope to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Samsung Thunders managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked DB Promy in Seoul 83-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of DB Promy. Eugene Phelps notched a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 23 points by Ji-Hyon Park did not help to save the game for DB Promy. DB Promy's coach Sang-Bum Lee rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Samsung Thunders maintains tenth position with 5-14 record. Loser DB Promy keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Samsung Thunders will meet at home higher ranked ET Land Elephants (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. DB Promy will play against SK Knights (#6) in Seoul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anyang KGC moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated LG Sakers. LG Sakers lost third consecutive game. Anyang KGC's next round opponent will be KCC Egis (#7) in Jeonju. LG Sakers will play on the road against Goyang Orions in Daegu and hope to win that game.
The game between second ranked ET Land Elephants (12-8) and 7th ranked SK Knights (9-11) in Inchon on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. ET Land Elephants outscored guests from Seoul 88-58. Giddy Potts orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ET Land Elephants have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory ET Land Elephants went down to third position due to points difference. SK Knights lost sixth consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. ET Land Elephants will face bottom-ranked Samsung Thunders (#10) in Seoul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SK Knights will play at home against DB Promy (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 14 SK Knights beat KCC Egis on the road 77-68. DB Promy won against Goyang Orions on its own court 92-85.
The most impressive performance of 14th round was 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by Aaron Haynes of SK Knights.



Anyang KGC - LG Sakers 100-92

The game in Anyang was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers LG Sakers (10-9) played at the court of fifth ranked Anyang KGC (10-9). Anyang KGC managed to secure a 8-point victory 100-92. Anyang KGC forced 22 LG Sakers turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Hui-Won Han (195-93) who scored 19 points and 9 assists.
