James Mays
JAMES MAYS

Experienced Central African-American James Mays (205-F/C-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for LG Sakers and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 32-year old power forward had a double-double of 41 points and twenty three rebounds, while his team lost the game against Mobis Phoebus (#1, 15-3) 79-90. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. LG Sakers maintains the 4th position in South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. LG Sakers will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 10-8 record. In the team's last game Mays had a remarkable 54.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be LG Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Clemson University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mays is league's best scorer averaging so far 28.6ppg. Mays is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 14.2rpg) and averages solid 59.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old Canadian forward Mikyle McIntosh (201-F-94) of Anyang KGC. McIntosh impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 40 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Anyang KGC lost that game 67-99 to the higher-ranked Mobis Phoebus (#1, 15-3). Anyang KGC managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. McIntosh is a newcomer at Anyang KGC and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) of DB Promy (#8). Williams showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, fourteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of DB Promy, leading his team to a 77-76 win against slightly lower-ranked Samsung Th. (#10, 4-14). The chances of DB Promy not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Williams could try to bring DB Promy's a little bit higher in the standings. Williams has individually a great season in South Korea. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.0rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Brandon Brown (201-PF-85) of KCC Egis - 31 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Darryl Monroe (201-C/F-86) of Goyang Orions - 22 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Hongseok Yang (199-F-97) of KT Sonicboom - 23 points and 7 rebounds
7. Aaron Haynes (201-F-81) of SK Knights - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Tae-Young Moon (197-F-78) of Samsung Th. - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Minsoo Kim (195-F-88) of SK Knights - 25 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Shannon Shorter (193-G-89) of Mobis Phoebus - 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
