JAMES MAYS

32-year old power forward James Mays (205-F/C-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for LG Sakers and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed DB Promy (#9, 4-8) with 22-point margin 95-73. LG Sakers maintains the 3rd position in South Korean league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. LG Sakers will need more victories to improve their 7-4 record. In the team's last game Mays had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be LG Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Clemson University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mays is league's best scorer averaging so far 28.2ppg. Mays is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 13.5rpg) and averages solid 60.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Benoit Mbala (203-F-95) of Samsung Th.. He is Cameroonian forward in his first season at Samsung Th.. In the last game Mbala recorded impressive 33 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Samsung Th. was edged by the higher-ranked Anyang KGC (#2, 7-4) 99-98. Samsung Th. is still second from the bottom in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-7 record. Mbala is a newcomer at Samsung Th. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.4ppg (#5). He also registered 9.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Sek-Eun Oh (200-C-87) of league's second-best Anyang KGC. Oh showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Anyang KGC, leading his team to a 100-94 win against the lower-ranked Sonic Boom KT (#5, 6-5). Anyang KGC needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 4 lost games. Oh has a great season in South Korea. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.8rpg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Brandon Brown (201-PF-85) of KCC Egis - 23 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Joshia Gray (185-PG-93) of LG Sakers - 32 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Ricardo Ratliffe (203-F-89) of Mobis Phoebus - 22 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
