James Mays
Central African-American Power forward James Mays (206-F/C-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for LG Sakers, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 43.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Samsung Th. (#2, 31-16) with 27-point margin 91-64. LG Sakers maintains the 7th position in South Korean KBL. LG Sakers is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 21-26 record. In the team's last game Mays had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be LG Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Former Clemson University star has very solid stats this year. Mays is in league's top in points (7th best: 22.1ppg), rebounds (4th best: 11.8rpg) and averages impressive 52.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 33-year old U.S. Virgin Islands Victor Cuthbert (197-F-83) of ET Land. Cuthbert had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led ET Land to another comfortable win 87-73 over the lower-ranked Sonic Boom KT (#10, 15-33) being unquestionably team leader. ET Land's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 23-24 record. Cuthbert is a newcomer at ET Land, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Andre Emmett (196-F-82) of KCC Egis (#9). Emmett got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds and six assists. Despite Emmett's great performance KCC Egis lost 89-94 to slightly lower-ranked Sonic Boom KT (#10, 15-33). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of KCC Egis not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 32 games, recording just sixteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Emmett could try to bring KCC Egis' a little bit higher in the standings. Emmett has individually a great season in South Korea. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.6ppg (best scorer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Terrico White (196-G-90) of SK Knights - 28 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Young-Hwan Kim (195-F-84) of Sonic Boom KT - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists
6. Sung-Min Cho (197-F-83) of LG Sakers - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists
7. Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) of Sonic Boom KT - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Jae-Do Lee (180-PG-91) of Sonic Boom KT - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists
9. Hyeon-Min Kim (200-F-87) of Sonic Boom KT - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Chan-Hee Park (190-G-87) of ET Land - 12 points, 4 rebounds and 11 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
