The
regular season leader of the Korean Women Basketball League, has won
yesterday the third game in a row in the play offs against Shinhan Bank
S-Birds, winning the national title. The first game out of the scheduled
five, was won by the
Shinhan Bank S-Birds 63-59 (20-25; 17-12; 11-6; 15-16), but
Woori Bank Hansae took revenge in the next game by winning it big,
with a 10 points difference 61-51 (15-15; 17-7; 10-12; 19-17). In the
next game, the third game, they consolidate their steps on the winning
path with an even bigger victory 60-48 (22-19; 16-15; 11-4; 11-10).
And yesterday, March 8th, they won the fourth game, and the championship
at the same time, after a close call for the fifth game. The eminence of
the fifth game was foreseen at the beginning, when the Birds flu over
Woori Bank Hansae in the first quarter with a 22-16 points, and in the
second quarter outscore Woori again with a 19-14 points. Unfortunately
for them, Woori Bank Hansae managed to slowly come back, outscoring them
in the third quarter (16 - 11), and to even out the game by the end of
the regular time at 66-66, and in the over time to stole the last chance
of Shinhan Bank S-Birds winning the title. Woori Bank Hansaewon
the game against Shinhan Bank S-Birds73-70, becoming the 2006 Korean
Women Basketball Champion.
