South Korean KBL round 38 best performance: Jameel Warney (by Hoops Agents)

American Center Jameel Warney (203-C-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Seoul SK Knights, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 38.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (38 points, nine rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Seoul Thunders (#9, 13-29) 82-79. Thanks to this victory Knights moved-up to the 3rd position in South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Seoul Knights will need more victories to improve their 27-15 record. In the team's last game Warney had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at Knights, through which he has constantly improved. Former Stony Brook University star has very solid stats this year. Warney is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.8ppg. Warney is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 10.8rpg), assists (7th best: 4.8apg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg and 51.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Turkish Kerem Kanter (208-F/C-1995) of Seoul Samsung Thunders. Kanter had a very good evening with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Bad luck as Samsung Thunders was edged by the higher-ranked Seoul Knights (#3, 27-15) 82-79. Seoul Thunders managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-29 record. Kanter is a newcomer at Seoul Thunders, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Rayshaun Hammonds (206-C-1998) of Hyundai Mobis Phoebus (#8). Hammonds scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Hammonds' great performance the Mobis Phoebus lost 80-90 to the higher-ranked Wonju DB (#4, 26-16). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Mobis Phoebus not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 27 games, recording just fifteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Hammonds could try to bring Mobis Phoebus' a little bit higher in the standings. Hammonds has individually a great season in South Korea. After 39 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.1ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 9.0rpg (5th best).

9. Nathan Knight (208-F/C-1997) of Sono SG - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Henry Ellenson (208-C-1997) of Wonju DB - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
