The most exciting game of round 37 in the KBL took place in Jeonju. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Sonicboom (30-16) to fifth ranked Egis (24-22) 96-94 on Thursday evening. KCC Egis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Suwon KT helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international forward Guna Ra (203-1989, college: Missouri) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Ung Heo (183-1993) chipped in 18 points and 8 assists. American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Sonicboom's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. KCC Egis maintains fifth place with 24-22 record. Suwon KT lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second position with 16 games lost. They share it with LG Sakers. KCC Egis are looking forward to face KoGas (#7) in Inchon in the next round. Suwon KT will play on the road against the league's leader Wonju DB (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Samsung Thunders managed to get a twelfth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses. This time they won against ninth-ranked Skygunners in Seoul 92-86. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds. Junghyun Lee contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Jeong-Hyeon Lee (187-1999) answered with 37 points (!!!) and 9 assists for Sono SG. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Seoul Thunders maintains tenth place with 12-35 record. Sono SG lost third consecutive game.
