Wonju DB outrebounded Sono SG 51-30 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Wonju DB looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Sono SG's players. The former international forward SangJae Kang (202-1994) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Jeff Withey (213-1990, college: Kansas) contributed with 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jong-hyun Lee (191-1999) replied with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for Sono SG. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wonju DB maintains first position with 32-10 record. Sono SG lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 29 games lost. Wonju DB are looking forward to face Seoul Knights (#4) at home in the next round. Sono SG will play against KCC Egis (#6) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
The game in Inchon was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Sakers (26-15) played at the court of 7th ranked KoGas (16-25). Sakers managed to secure a 7-point victory 87-80. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Hongseok Yang (199-1997) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Justin Gutang who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The former international forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-1991, college: Hampton) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. LG Sakers maintains third position with 26-15 record having seven points less than leader Wonju DB. KoGas at the other side keep the seventh place with 25 games lost. LG Sakers will play against Seoul Knights (#4) on the road in the next round. KoGas will play against Anyang and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
