Top ranked Wonju DB (13-2) recorded its second loss in Seoul on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Knights (8-4) 86-80. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Wonju DB. They outrebounded Wonju DB 47-35 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Youngjun An (195-1995) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Dedric Lawson (206-1997, college: Kansas) produced a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists for the guests. Wonju DB's coach Sang-Bum Lee rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Knights have a solid series of four victories in a row. Seoul Knights maintains fourth place with 8-4 record. Wonju DB at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Knights are looking forward to face Skygunners (#7) in Daegu in the next round. Wonju DB will play on the road against Anyang (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Anyang (9-5) against fifth ranked Sonicboom (7-5) on Friday night. Host Anyang was defeated by Sonicboom in a tough game in Anyang 85-94. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Anyang. American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. Hoon Heo contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Darryl Monroe (202-1986, college: GMU) answered with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Anyang. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Suwon KT maintains fifth place with 7-5 record. Defending champion Anyang dropped to the third position with five games lost. Sonicboom will play against league's second-placed Sakers in Changwon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Anyang will play on the road against Skygunners in Daegu and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked KoGas managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of ten consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked Egis in Inchon 96-81. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference suggests that KoGas is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. It was a great evening for Samjosef Belangel who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 6 assists. Guna Ra responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KoGas maintains tenth place with 2-12 record. Loser Egis keep the eighth position with seven games lost. KoGas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KCC Egis will play against Mobis Phoebus (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 11 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Hyundai Mobis Phoebus were crushed by Changwon LG Sakers in a road game 97-76. Seoul Samsung Thunders smashed Korea Gas Corporation at home 84-63. Sono Skygunners were destroyed by Changwon LG Sakers on the opponent's court 80-49. Seoul Samsung Thunders unfortunately lost to Hyundai Mobis Phoebus in a home game 66-80.
The best stats of 11th round was 11 points and 5 assists by Ji-Hoon Ham of Mobis Phoebus.




LG Sakers - Mobis Phoebus 97-76

There was no surprise in Changwon where 6th ranked Mobis Phoebus (7-7) were crushed by third ranked Sakers (9-4) 97-76 on Thursday. LG Sakers outrebounded Mobis Phoebus 39-28 including 25 on the defensive glass. LG Sakers shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized American guard Justin Gutang (191-1997, college: Skyline JC) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Keve Aluma (206-1998, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Ji-Hoon Ham (198-1984) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sakers have a solid series of four victories in a row. LG Sakers moved-up to second place. Loser Mobis Phoebus keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Sakers will meet Sonicboom (#5) in the next round. Mobis Phoebus will play against Egis in Jeonju and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Everything could happen in Seoul at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Samsung Thunders and 10th ranked KoGas had identical 2-11 record. This time Samsung Thunders used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Inchon 84-63 on Thursday night. Seoul Thunders dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to KoGas' 44. They outrebounded KoGas 49-35 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Seoul Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by KoGas' players. It was a great evening for Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Si-Rae Kim (179-1989) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Heon Lee (194-1994) responded with 27 points and Filipino guard Samjosef Belangel (177-1999) scored 18 points.
