Anyang - LG Sakers 73-79 The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Anyang (16-7) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked LG Sakers (15-9) 79-73. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. It was a good game for the former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-1991) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four LG Sakers players scored in double figures. The former international center Sek-Eun Oh (200-1987) replied with 18 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Seonggon Moon (193-1993) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Anyang. KCC Egis dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Goyang's 26. They outrebounded Goyang 42-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. KCC Egis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international forward Guna Ra (203-1989, college: Missouri) notched 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Woong Heo (183-1993) supported him with 14 points and 6 assists. Four KCC Egis players scored in double figures. Even 33 points (!!!) by international guard Seonghyen Jeon (190-1991) did not help to save the game for Goyang. American power forward Dedric Lawson (206-1997, college: Kansas) added 26 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KCC Egis moved-up to seventh place, which they share with KoGas. Loser Goyang keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. KCC Egis will meet league's second-placed LG Sakers in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Goyang will play against the league's leader Anyang where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Seoul Thunders. Wonju DB players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Seoul Knights dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Seoul Thunders' 36. American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) notched a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international Joon-Young Choi (200-1994) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points and 21 rebounds by American forward Emanuel Terry (206-1996, college: LMU) did not help to save the game for Seoul Thunders.
