KoGas - Anyang 100-95 The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Anyang (15-5) in Inchon on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked KoGas (10-10) 100-95. It was a great evening for American forward Murphy Holloway (201-1990, college: Ole Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Hyo-Geun Jeong (200-1993) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four KoGas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Omari Spellman (207-1997, college: Villanova) with 27 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Junhyeong Byeon (186-1996) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. KoGas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Anyang at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. KoGas are looking forward to face league's second-placed LG Sakers in Changwon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Anyang will play on the road against Suwon KT in Busan and is hoping to win this game. LG Sakers dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Seoul Thunders' 40. They outrebounded Seoul Thunders 47-31 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 22 rebounds. The former international center Jun-Yl Kim (202-1992) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Emanuel Terry (206-1996, college: LMU) who recorded 8 points and 6 rebounds and forward Hyun-Ho Lee (192-1980) added 11 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. LG Sakers maintains second place with 13-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Anyang. Seoul Thunders lost fifth consecutive game. Seoul Knights shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Leon Williams (203-1986, college: Ohio) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Four Seoul Knights players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ethan Albano (185-1996) who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Lennard Freeman (203-1995, college: NC State) added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Despite that victory Seoul Knights went down to sixth position due to points difference. Wonju DB lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KCC Egis. Mobis Phoebus players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Gaige Prim (203-1999, college: Missouri St.) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. The former international power forward Ji-Hoon Ham (198-1984) accounted for 12 points and 4 assists for the winning side. The former international forward Guna Ra (203-1989, college: Missouri) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and international center Seung-Hyun Lee (201-1992) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively for KCC Egis in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Mobis Phoebus maintains third place with 12-8 record having just three points less than leader Anyang. KoGas' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
