Jacqueline Chu put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Whye Nam and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The had the game-high 25 points adding six rebounds and seven assists for Whye Nam in her team's victory, helping them to beat Kembangan (#5, 5-8) 54-47. Whye Nam is placed at 7th position in Singapore WNBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Whye Nam will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Chu had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. She turned to be Whye Nam's top player in her first season with the team. Chu has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 18.2ppg. Chu is in league's top in assists (7th best: 3.0apg) and averages solid 3.6spg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Shixuan Yang of Kembangan. Yang impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Kembangan lost that game 47-54 to slightly lower-ranked Whye Nam (#7, 3-2). Despite lost game Kembangan moved up to 5th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-8 record. Yang is a newcomer at Kembangan and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was another Kembangan's star - Sheryl Koh. Koh scored 23 points. She was another key player of Kembangan, helping her team with a 72-62 win against slightly lower-ranked Adroit SG (#6, 4-3). The chances of Kembangan not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Koh could try to bring Kembangan's a little bit higher in the standings. Koh has individually a great season in Singapore. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 8.0ppg (9th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
