Vietnam beat Singapore in their opener of the Southeast Asian Games. After a slow start, the hosts pushed the tempo for good to seal a 73-51 win. The third period was decisive in the game as Vietnam notched a 27-14 surge to win the game.
Thi Anh Dao Tran led the way with 19 points and Thao Vy Truong collected 16 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Min Lim Jia replied with 16 points in the losing effort and Yan Amanda Lim Zhi had 12.
